This exhibition design project is from my environmental graphic design class during my first year as an undergraduate student. As an individual raised in a Buddhist family, establishing a sense of belonging was challenging in the United States. After arriving in this country as a foreigner, I experienced a profound sense of alienation. However, encountering Buddhist-inspired sculptures comforted and reminded me of home. Given the scarcity of celebrations dedicated to Buddhist culture in Boston, I aspired to develop an exhibition paying homage to my heritage and community. To achieve this, I carefully recreated the sculptures, taking inspiration from the original exhibition design.
